Verizon Fasinate Please Help !!?

So i have the fascinate from verizon wireless. all was going fine but my battery was very low so my phone died. no biggy right just plug it into the charger, well that's what i did and right when i plugged it into the charger this yellow triangle sign popped up with a android avatar shoveling something and under it , it says downloading.. then says so not turn off target !! what does this mean ? should i take my battery out or just let it sit . please help !
