IMVU is not working on my computer?

Ever since I made my IMVU account and downloaded the software, it has not worked. It doesn't show my avatar, use the shop, go into the chat rooms, etc. I already checked to see if the software is being blocked, I got a new gaming video card a few months back and I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the program. A lot of my friends have fun on IMVU and I would like join them. What can I do?
